Hi there! I’m Melissa
Hi, I’m Melissa Jin, a photographer based in Boston, MA. I grew up believing that success meant getting a good education and a stable job. With that mindset, I studied Computer Engineering and moved to San Francisco to work in tech. But the creative part of me never felt fulfilled in that life. Now, I’m on a mission to prove my younger self wrong. My dream is to build a business I’m proud of—doing work that truly inspires me.
My passion for photography started as a middle-schooler when I picked up my parents’ old camera to take pictures on a vacation. I was delighted by the beautiful landscapes I could capture. From there, I watched through countless youtube videos, learning about all the camera settings and techniques used to create different effects. But when I looked through old photos, I quickly realized the pictures I were most drawn to were the ones with people in them. There was just something so special about an image of someone deep in a belly laugh, or of a groom stealing glances of his bride when he thinks no one is watching.
My goal now is to blend the systems-building knowledge I gained as an engineer with my artistic side to create a service that delivers an exceptional customer experience and captures memories that last a lifetime
Fun Facts About Me
-
My fitness journey stemmed from a multi-year long bout of chronic back pain. After my pain healed, I took up cross-fit classes to build strength and prevent future injuries. Little did I know that these classes would also provide me with the strength to carry my camera equipment on long days.

Living in a city with the oldest subway system in the US and roads built for horse-drawn carriages, I’ve found that biking is the easiest and fastest way to get around. You’ll find me biking all-year round - in rain and the cold. The only times I don’t bike are in thick snow and ice.
